What We Liked
We really liked how easy this oven was to use and how quickly it cooked our pizza. We also loved how portable it was—it’s by far the most portable pizza oven we’ve ever used. And although the inside of the oven is a little small, we still thought it did a great job cooking our pizza dough evenly.
What We Didn’t Like
One downside of the design is that the inside of the oven is a little smaller than some other models. This can make it tricky to fit larger pizzas inside. However, once you get the hang of it, you should be able to fit two 12-inch pizzas inside with no problem.
Another downside is that getting the flame just right can be tricky. If you have trouble lighting the oven or regulating the temperature, don’t worry – there are plenty of helpful videos online that can walk you through it step by step. Once you get the hang of it, controlling the temperature will be a breeze.
How It Works
The Ooni Koda 12 Oven uses gas to heat up the stone baking board inside the oven. There is a knob on the front of the oven that allows you to adjust the flame, and we found that it took a little trial and error to get it just right.
Once the stone baking board is heated up, you simply place your pizza dough on it and close the door. The pizza only takes a few minutes to cook, and we were really impressed with how evenly cooked it came out.
